Aging With Aloha
So many opportunities are presenting themselves in the residency, that I have a hard time keeping up, let alone blog about it! I blogged earlier about the web we weave. Well, talk about a long term care rotation has progessed, and now Sheena and I find ourselves suddenly enmeshed in the whole Maui long term care community. Really, it’s the community for the elderly, and they now call themselves the Aging With Aloha Coalition. We presented to their core leadership team yesterday, which resulted in an explosion of opportunities and offers to talk to other groups. Tonight, we met several new faces at the South Maui Community forum, which discusses issues surrounding elderly specific to our area.
Talk about small world! The meeting was held at the Kihei Charter School, which is right down the street from Keely’s school and the aquatic center. Tomorrow night, I will be back at the Charter School to learn about their program. That’s one thing I like about smaller communities.
